Helpdesk Roundtable: February 29, 2012

All Customer Service and Helpdesk Directors and Managers are invited to attend the next Boston SIM Helpdesk Roundtable session on Wednesday February 29th from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will be hosted at Management Sciences for Health in Cambridge, MA followed by a networking dinner at the Elephant Walk restaurant in Brookline, MA. The Elephant Walk serves Cambodian and French cuisine which should be an interesting and fun chance to enjoy different food while networking with peers.

The topics for this meeting will be Mobile Device Management and Recruiting, Hiring and Retaining staff. • Mobile Device Management – For this discussion, we are going to talk about the options around managing mobile devices, from BYOD (bring your own device) to fully managed solutions.

Please note: Both discussion topics will be a facilitated roundtable format, i.e. We will have one or two members lead the discussion, presenting their company’s methods and tools and example, but we want to share the varied experiences – good and bad, insights and challenges – from all participants. Therefore we ask that you each think about the topics and be prepared to give a 5 minute overview of how these work (or don’t work) in your company.

To register, please click here.

Brian Shul, Author, AF Fighter Pilot, TOP GUN Instructor, SR-71 Pilot

His remarkable comeback from lying near dead in the jungle of Southeast Asia to later flying the world’s fastest, highest flying jet is a remarkable one that has served as an inspiration to many. Brian’s breath-taking aviation slides, dynamic story, and subtle wit all make for an unforgettable presentation.

The CIO Roundtable has become one of the most popular features of Boston SIM membership for those individuals who are identified as the Chief Information Officer for their organizations. The Roundtables provide opportunities for CIOs to discuss topics of interest with their peers in a relaxed, informal setting.

The typical Roundtable program is hosted by a CIO at his/her company. The program begins at 1:30 p.m. with a presentation by a CIO member or invited guest on a topic chosen in advance. Ample time is provided for discussion with the presenter and among the group. After the program, refreshments and dinner provide additional opportunity for discussion and networking. Four CIO Roundtables are held each program year. Following is a list of recent CIO Roundtable topics: Group Collaboration Using the Internet, How to Manage and Succeed in Your Career as CIO, ERP Implementation Projects, Managing Remote Network Access, Justifying and Measuring the Value of IT, and Managing the Human Resource
